Learning times tables is such an important part of our lives. They are used in many different aspects of maths as well as in day to day tasks.
Imagine you want to buy treats for a party bag, they come in packs of 6 and you have 24 children coming. With a simple division calculation (24 รท 6), you instantly know how many packs to buy (4).
Most of us have clear memories of learning multiplication and division as children. We used to chant and recite full sets as a class and some may even have had a poster on their bedroom wall.
The jump from knowing how to add and subtract numbers to becoming familiar with multiplication can feel overwhelming and confusing. However, once your child has mastered it, it can become second nature to them.
We have moved on since the days of whole class chanting and now use technology as one of many platforms to help with the children learning their times tables.
At Queensgate we use Times Tables Rockstars (TTRS) for our KS2 children.
Your child will use TTRS within the classroom but we also encourage use at home to re-enforce their knowledge. It can be downloaded from:

And is compatible with most devices.
